Having exploded onto the scene last year with her breakthrough single ‘YOLO’, Sydney’s CLYPSO has had a huge 2018 delivering stand out tracks like ‘Pop Roll Flow’ and ‘Middle Ground’ featuring Kwame, as well as being hand-picked to tour with the likes of PNAU and What So Not.
Now CLYPSO delivers her latest single ‘Strange Behaviour’ featuring Melbourne rapper Sophiegrophy. ‘Strange Behaviour’ is the next taste of CLYPSO’s upcoming EP Cameo to be released by tastemaker label etcetc in January.
CLYPSO explains the story behind ‘Strange Behaviour’: “It's about some people you meet who have an x-factor that intrigues you. It could seem unusual and strange to some people or they could be awkward and mysterious, but those things give them a unique 'flavour'. All about embracing the weird and wonderful world we live in. Sophiegrophy has a very original/unique tone and cool style and I'm stoked she agreed to put her hot verse down."
Delivering a sound that’s a collage of hyperactive beats, grimey basslines and global tropical music culture inspired electronica or as she describes it, “troppo chilli flakes”, CLYPSO is turning heads in the Australian music scene with her unique sound. A songwriter and vocalist who produces all her own tracks, CLYPSO now joins artists like PNAU, Kilter and Luboku on the etcetc roster, with her 6-track debut EP set to drop on January 11th.
