Gold Coast producer Mikey Perry, better known as Paces, kicked off 2015 in typical swag-lord style, waltzing into triple j’s Hottest 100 at number 100 with his Tkay Maidza collab, 'Switch Lanes'. This was quickly followed up by his hit single 'Nothing's Forever', which featured vocals from Perth artist Kučka. 'Nothing's Forever' hit the top 30 of the iTunes Dance chart after being added to full rotation on triple j. Off the back of this success, Paces hit the road with a sold out tour across the country and was tapped for official remixes for Years & Years, Tinashe, Hermitude and Guy Sebastian.

Now Paces is ready to go back to the future with his latest single ‘1993 (No Chill)’. ‘1993 (No Chill)’ features the vocals of UK-born, Adelaide-raised Jess Kent, and has already hit the top 5 on the Shazam Future Hits chart as well as being the most played track on triple j in late January.

"I first heard Jess Kent via her track ‘Get Down’,” explains Paces. “I could tell right away that it was the feel good hit of the summer and that Jess and I were on a very similar musical vibe. I’d been writing some summery instrumentals, inspired by early M.I.A. tunes, which I thought would be a good fit for Jess’ sound. So I sent them over, not realising that Jess was currently being hit up by just about every musician on the internet. Luckily the timing was right and everything else just fell into place!"

To celebrate the release of ‘1993 (No Chill)’ and his upcoming debut album Vacation, Captain Paces will soon be hitting the high seas when V MoVement presents Ship to Shore album launch parties in capital cities around Australia. Tickets to these album launch parties will be extremely limited and can be purchased from Moshtix.

Paces’ debut album Vacation will be released on March 4th, 2016.
