DUCK SAUCE – of Armand Van Helden and A-Trak fame – announce their long awaited return with forthcoming single,’It’s You‘, due out for Australian release June 28.
‘It’s You‘ follows previously mind melting disco house goods, ‘Anyway‘, ‘Big Bad Wolf‘ and ‘Barbera Streisand‘ which peaked in the top 10 in 7 countries back in 2010.
The duo really aren’t dripping much sweat on the single apart from an enigmatic link on their socials linking to a ‘Quack is Back‘ campaign, which loops up a shneaky little teaser of the track.

Much more needn’t be said apart from a parental advisory to stay tuned to etcetc for various quack development.

Chris Malinchak’s ‘So Good To Me’ first premiered in the UK as an ‘Essential New Tune’ on Radio 1 by Pete Tong.
Recently hitting the number 1 spot on Cool Cuts and Hype Machine, ‘So Good To Me’ has delivered the feels via Youtube 3 million times over, under the guise of online imperial dance curators – ‘Majestic Casual’.

‘So Good To Me’ renders Malinchak as the tipping point for America’s burgeoning deep house scene, with previous tracks ‘If U Got It’, ‘All Shook Up’, ‘Deal ‘Em’ and ‘No Secrets’, resting their roots in the renowned cult house label, ‘French Express’.

Upon it’s release, ‘So Good To Me’ has smashed charts as the subject of some serious support from the likes of Duke Dumont, Diplo, Annie Mac and Faithless, asserting itself as an anthem for the Northern hemisphere summer of 2013 which we can now all be apart of, you guys.

The video clip follows a little girl as she tries to find her missing pet giraffe – we’ve all been there.

Malinchak is now signed to Ministry of Sound in the UK and etcetc welcome him with open arms into the Australian musical spectrum of minimal house ~ flowing energy ~ and above all, dat life.

Feel the love.

British DJ / producer, Duke Dumont (aka Adam Dyment) has emerged slowly onto the kaleidoscope that is the dance music scene of 2013. Mentored by Switch in his early career, Duke made his name remixing a vast line up of artists in the vibe of Bonobo, Santigold, Lily Allen, AlunaGeorge & Metronomy.

His second single release, ‘Need U (100%)’ entered the UK Singles Chart at Number 1 and is undoubtedly an apex track for the distinct 90′s house sound being revived on scene today. ‘Need U’ features silky vocal enrichment from the Sierre Leone born, A*M*E and debuted as Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune earlier this year(!!!), with mixmag rating the track 9/10 calling it a ‘blimmin’ stonker!’. Big call y’all.

‘Need U (100%)’ brings the new age of dance music to a forefront with The video clip clocking over 5 million views on Youtube – don’t even worry about it.

Duke Dumont is to be kept under close watch but for now etcetc HQ has this one on the loop – 100%.

It’s a project which has been in the works for over 2 years, and in recent months we have merely heard it beamed across the pond via BBC Radio – a sensory experience which left much to be desired. But alas, the first video (and second single) from Elton John & PNAU’s conceptual album ‘Good Morning To The Night’ has hit the internet.

So, a little on the project…

The highly anticipated collaboration between one of modern music’s most influential artists and Australia’s leading electronic duo, liberates decades of archived recordings and compositions in lesson of creation, enlightenment and rebirth.

A dynamic modernization of original studio and live recordings, Good Morning To The Night redefines the timelessness of Elton John’s own works through collaborative exploration, sampling, sequencing and synthesis by the leading force in experimental and epic electronica, PNAU. The conceptual album draws elements from no-less-than 40 known, and unknown recordings, re-produced into eight euphonious moments. Spanning stratospheric and sonic bounds across the score, PNAU sculpt a warm, psychedelic symphony – rich in melodic keys and harmony — with the lead singles ‘Good Morning To The Night’ and ‘Sad’ a teasing gaze into what is destined to become one of the greatest musical works in celestial history.

Silence is traditionally golden, except when you have been waiting too long between drinks… and when drinks actually means a new single from PNAU, then silence can be unbearable. We can finally reveal what’s next from the duo of Peter Mayes and Nick Littlemore – Unite Us. We could have revealed it a little earlier, but we thought that we’d make you sweat it out a little bit first, but the remixes and videos for Unite Us are well and truly in, and are have hit the internet.

Having already primed combustion tanks of their interstellar ‘Soft Universe’ voyager, PNAU have broken orbit to deliver their next single – Unite Us. An anthemic re-entry into the musical stratosphere, Unite Us is the lovers sonnet of the electronic age – hitting the soul with emotionally charged vocals, deep arpeggiated synth lines and stadium readied synth stabs which scream the sadistic woes of stretched heartstrings.

Never before has heartbreak sounded this good.

You know the first time that you hear a new track, and you’re taken back a little? Your mouth tightens and you smirk stupidly and the only vocal response you are able tos tructure is “Woah”. Well, the debut single from All The Lights had that effect on us. Chasing Colours is one of those records that defies being genre pigeon holed, projecting a luminous brilliance which encompasses blissful elements of indie, pop, dance and more. Did I mention there were key’s in there too yet?

Anyway, it’s one of the most infectious records we have come across in a long time, with a remix pack that seems almost frankenstein on the surface, with house music heavyweight Ian Carey bringing his A-game, along with some deep house beats and disco sampled treats from Plastic Plates and Moonchild. But it somehow comes together as a single remix pack, which is just a moment of total musical completedness. It’s out at the end of August, so you have a couple of weeks to prepare your soul for this.

Trading in his main-room bleep-house for a sound fresher than a new pair of socks, UK house meister Ridney has over-filtered his way back from the future to reverberate his way through the loins and into your soul with his new jam Always With You. This is truly the good kind of music. Always With You is aurally viral; heaps of hats and full of warmth and vibe…. Soo much vibe. It’s a strobe-lit stereo popper, set to burn a whole through main-rooms, back-rooms, iPods, iPads and all other devices you can use to play music on these days.

Re-working this wonder, His Majesty Andre (Cheap Thrills/MODA) waives his musical wand across the track, compressing and sequencing the track into a four-minute-and-seven-second floor filling edit. Taking a few steps back from that front-left speaker stack, is James Curd (DFA/Greenskeepers) who provides no less than three loving re-workings of the track, each defining their own moment of beauty and perfection.

It’s due to hit Juno/Beatport/iTunes on August 4th, so set yourself an ical.

PNAU have always caused a bit of fuss and fluster with every project they’re invovled with, and delivering their latest album Soft Universe was no different. “It’s the sound of now…” according to Rolling Stone, and we would tend to agree with them in this instance. Soft Universe is an amazing expression of emotive electronica, defining a point in space, time and music for the band. With the duo taking to the main-stage at Splendour In The Grass sooner than you can imagine, you’re running out of time to learn the lyrics, so grab your copy of Soft Universe from JB Hifi or iTunes today.
